More than 32 thousand FEMSA volunteers dedicated almost 380 thousand hours of work in favor of the community

Mexico City, Mexico. December 5, 2019.– During the first nine months of 2019, more than 32 thousand FEMSA volunteers – internal and external to the company – carried out 1,275 activities to which they dedicated 379,279 hours of work in benefit of the community. Participation in FEMSA community activities strengthens the culture of volunteering that is commemorated on the International Volunteer Day every December 5.

Between January and September 2019, FEMSA volunteers have invested more than US $43,000 to carry out their activities, that is, US $11.20 per volunteer. Of the 32 thousand volunteers, 21,246 are FEMSA employees and 10,776 are family and friends of our collaborators.
“The best way to celebrate International Volunteer Day is to reiterate our commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve. We are excited that, with the participation of more than 32 thousand volunteers, we have undertaken 1,275 activities to improve the environment and the conditions in which thousands of families of different neighborhoods and populations live in”, said Guadalupe Riquelme, Work Manager at FEMSA.

The activities carried out by FEMSA volunteers are aimed at causes related to education, community support, environmental care, health and well-being, which makes it possible for the company to transform and positively impact the lives of employees and the communities where it operates.
