Coca-Cola FEMSA inaugurates the “Vive Tu Parque” program in Calpulalpan

Calpulalpan, Tlaxcala, May 2, 2019.- In collaboration with the Coca-Cola Foundation, Sustainable Schools A.C and municipal authorities of Calpulalpan, Coca-Cola FEMSA inaugurated the community space “Live Your Park” in San Pedro del Monte, with the aim of integrating and strengthening the social welfare of the community. The event was attended by Neptalí Gutiérrez Juárez, Municipal President of Calpulalpan; Luz Vera Díaz, Local Deputy; and Eduardo López Galván, Corporate Affairs Executive of Coca-Cola FEMSA.

“At Coca-Cola FEMSA, we are committed to strengthening social welfare in all areas: personal, family and community. Therefore, through the recovery of public spaces and the installation of equipment for physical activation and childrens games, the program Live Your Park, seeks that the inhabitants of Calpulalpan can live in harmony and adopt a healthy lifestyle”, said Eduardo López Galván, Corporate Affairs Executive of Coca-Cola FEMSA.

The program’s model operates 5 axes focused on (1) the generation of commitment and empowerment of the beneficiary community, (2) the care and responsible consumption of water, (3) waste management, (4) the planting of different species and (5) the use of clean energies. These axes are part of a community-level strategy that provides economic, social and environmental value to the municipality of Calpulalpan, and that will benefit more than 8,000 citizens and the integral development of the State of Tlaxcala.

This initiative will also contribute to the Development Plan of the Municipality of Calpulalpan in terms of recreation and sustainable social development through days of health, nutrition and physical activation. In addition to that, it will help to raise awareness about caring for the environment in order to cultivate human values in an environment of family coexistence.

“Vive Tu Parque” is a Coca-Cola Foundation project that began in 2016 as a result of the recovery of public spaces. Thanks to the work that has taken place in collaboration with local authorities and civil society, 8 recreation and leisure parks have been installed in Tlaxcala, specifically in the municipalities of Apizaco, Tlaxco, Tlaxcala, Zacatelco, Huamantla, San Pablo del Monte and Calpulalpan, benefiting a total of 54,700 people.
