FEMSA

Mexico City, June 17th, 2020.- The alliance Contagia Solidaridad (Infect Solidarity), formed by Coppel Group, FEMSA foundation, Santander, Soriana, OXXO and Televisa Foundation, gave out the first 20 thousand protection equipments to healthcare personnel. The delivery was possible thanks to the seed capital of the alliance and the generous donations of citizens, which were quadrupled through this initiative.

Every donated protection kit allows the personnel to be protected for a month. It consists of 100 three-layered facemasks and 4 protective masks elaborated by PTM, a mexican company of plastic transformation solutions that is part of FEMSA. In total, more than 2.2 million elements of protection have been given out, which will directly benefit more than 20 thousand members of the non-COVID health centre personnel in Aguascalientes, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Puebla and Queretaro.

The opportunity for citizens to contribute to this initiative will be open until June 30th, and afterwards donations will be received directly to the fund’s account or through the more than 9 thousand Santander ATMs all over the country. Support can also be given through the OXXO stores participating in Baja California, Mexico City, Coahuila, Mexico State, Hidalgo, Michoacan, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Zacatecas through the program of Rounding for OXXO Customers.

For every peso donated to the community, Coppel Group, FEMSA Foundation will give four more to arrive at the initial goal of protecting 70 thousand members of the healthcare services.

The fund’s account is:
AYUDA SANTANDER
CUENTA: 65501821470
CLABE INTERBANCARIA: 014680655018214704

With the support of Solistica, a company that is part of FEMSA and provides integral logistics solutions, and along with OXXO’s Distribution Centres, the distribution and donation of the kits to the different institutions in the country were possible.
