Coca-Cola FEMSA acquires bottler in Uruguay

Mexico City, Mexico, June 28, 2018 – Coca-Cola FEMSA the largest Coca-Cola franchise bottler in the world by sales volume, with presence in Latin America and Asia, announces the acquisition of Montevideo Refrescos S.R.L. (“MONRESA”) from The Coca-Cola Company in an all cash transaction. The aggregate enterprise value for this transaction is US$ 250.7 million.

Founded in 1943, MONRESA, The Coca-Cola Company’s franchise, has exclusively served Uruguay, developing and diversifying the beverage market while creating a valuable legacy in the country. MONRESA currently serves more than 3.4 million consumers through 26 thousand points of sale. The integration of this franchise increases Coca-Cola FEMSA’s presence to 11 countries worldwide.
