Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. August 10th, 2020. – Starting on August 13th, OXXO chain stores in all the country will accept Spotify Premium subscription payment through OXXO PAY, powered by Conekta.

Innovation is a fundamental axis of the culture and values of OXXO, and an example of this is the integration of Spotify to the service catalog it offers its customers. In this alliance, each actor has an important role: Spotify offers the best audio streaming experience; OXXO is the place where payments will be possible through OXXO PAY, near consumers and Conekta will give the technological infrastructure to offer the service in an easy, safe way on real time.

“In OXXO we aim to improve our value proposal by offering quality products and services, satisfying the needs of our customers and giving them the best buying experience possible, all in the same place. This is why we work for payment to be easy, quick and in real time in our stores”, said Santiago Rivera, Electronic and Financial Business Manager of OXXO.

The users, when subscribing or renovating a subscription of Spotify Premium online and selecting OXXO PAY as payment method, will receive a numeric reference of 14 digits that they will dictate to the cashier to make his payment in cash in any OXXO store of the Republic. This will facilitate service payment, since a barcode won’t be necessary, and will improve the customer’s experience.

Subscription payment will be available in all the OXXO stores in Mexico, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and will be applied in real time.

The payment process of a Spotify Premium subscription is as follows:

    1. When buying a Spotify Premium subscription, select OXXO PAY as payment method.
    2. The OXXO PAY reference of 14 digits will be provided.
    3. Go to the nearest OXXO and mention to the cashier that an OXXO PAY payment will be made.
    4. Pay in cash and receive the ticket.
    5. Access Spotify’s content without ads.

With these actions, OXXO reaffirms its intention of being “Always ready, already there” and reiterates its commitment with the communities where it is present by contributing with the access to electronic and financial services in the country, so that more Mexicans can benefit from them.
