Developing Nutritional Education workshops, improving family nutrition, teaching the best way to make the best use of products supplied by Food Banks.
Mexico’s Food Banks are an extraordinary initiative that, for decades, have distributed food to people with limited financial resources in many cities throughout the country. FEMSA Foundation – looking to support this project – joined the efforts of the Food Banks in 2014 creating the program Nutritional Education in Food Banks, which teaches the current beneficiaries of the Banks a series of new and improved nutritional habits, using appealing workshops on nutritional education and growth. During the first stage of the program, we worked in the cities of Leon, Puebla, Queretaro, San Cristobal de las Casas, Tapachula, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Veracruz, and Xalapa. In 2015, the network has so far expanded to the cities of Saltillo and Monterrey.
