FEMSA Collection Joins V UDEM-Brazil International Fair

Monterrey, Nuevo León, October 2, 2015.– With the purpose of having the region, especially the college community, know and enjoy art created in Brazil, FEMSA Collection opened an exhibition of thirteen works as part of the V UDEM-Brazil International Fair, which will be shown at Gallery 1 of Roberto Garza Sada Center of University of Monterrey (UDEM) 

“We are pleased to present Art of Brazil. FEMSA Collection, comprising works of artists such as Emaoel Araujo, Solange Aurajo, José Roberto Barreto, Ruth Bessoudo Courvoisier, Joao Camara Filho, Iberê Camargo, Mario Cravo Neto, Amilcar de Castro, Anna Bella Geiger, Lydia Okumara, Sergio Rabinowitz, Anna Letycia Quadros and Yutaka Toyota. We thank UDEM, OXXO, Coca-Cola FEMSA and Cuahtémoc Moctezuma, for the support given to us to make this possible; also, we thank Roberto Garza Sada Center for their invaluable help and for providing its magnificent facilities to host this exhibition”, said FEMSA’s Cultural Program Manager, Rosa María Rodríguez. 

FEMSA brings its collection to a lot of communities in Mexico and the world as part of its itinerant exhibitions’ program, which aims to promote education through the dissemination of culture and artistic appreciation. 

For 125 years, FEMSA’s commitment has been to seek the integral development of its collaborators, their families and the communities where it operates. With FEMSA Collection, the company manages to promote education through culture and art while sharing their cultural heritage. 

The inauguration was attended by the Honorary Consul of Brazil in Nuevo León, Eugenio Clariond, and by the UDEM’s Director of the Academic Program of Bachelor of Arts, Roberto Salinas. 

Prior to the opening of the exhibition, Rosa María Rodríguez held an introductory talk, which pointed out that FEMSA Collection is currently one the most internationally recognized modern and contemporary Latin American art collections. It contains works of different disciplines, which gives a tour of the artistic influence of Latin America from the twentieth century to this day, with special emphasis on Mexican production. 

The exhibition will be available until October 31st, 2015 and is part of the different activities that will be taking place at this cultural event at University of Monterrey.
