- For the ninth consecutive year, FEMSA receives CONCAMIN's Ethics and Values Award.
Mexico City. November 7, 2014 .- The CONCAMIN (Confederation of Industrial Chambers) presented FEMSA with its Ethics and Values in the Industry Award in the category Large Enterprise for the ninth consecutive year to acknowledge FEMSA's culture of entrepreneurship, which is based on values and the respect for legality, and the company's sustainability programs.
FEMSA received this recognition during the Annual Industrialists' Meeting 2014 (AIM), which took place in Mexico City on November 6 and 7. The meeting followed the theme Transforming Mexico's Industrial Vision.
“Since its foundation 124 years ago, FEMSA has maintained a firm commitment to creating simultaneous economic, social, and environmental value in the communities where it operates. We are proud to have more than 200,000 employees throughout 10 countries who know and practice the company's philosophy in their daily duties,” said Anik Vares Leal, Manager of Social Sustainability at FEMSA. She added that the Sustainability Strategy has the company's Ethics and Values as its base axis, which supports three governing axes, Our People, Our Planet, and Our Community.
“The actions that constitute the Our People and Our Planet axes look to promote the integral development of the employees and to minimize the environmental impact of our operations while the axis Our Community focuses on initiatives that contribute to the generation of sustainable communities. This award motivates FEMSA to reaffirm its commitment to keep on finding the formula to create economic and social value based on a culture of work built on values and on the respect of legality,” she stated.
