Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma and FEMSA Foundation received the “Water Stewardship 2014” prize in the category of Corporate Water Stewardship, in recognition of the “Water Balance” strategy introduced in Nuevo León, through the Monterrey Metropolitan Water Fund, or FAMM.
FAMM brings together more than 50 organizations for the purpose of preventing flooding, improving water filtration and raising awareness about its importance, as well as raising public investment to protect the country’s watershed regions. FEMSA brewery Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma joined in this Fund’s efforts, reducing water stress and surpassing the global goal of using 3.7 liters of water per liter of beer produced.
The prize is given by the Global Water Summit, the most important international business conference for the water industry. During the ceremony, held in Paris, awards were given in 12 categories, recognizing the work of public and private organizations in this field.
