We kicked-off the project Nutrinformate looking to provide homemakers and children with information on how to achieve better nutrition, thus improving their health
Nutrinformate takes place in the state of Nuevo Leon; it consists of workshops focusing on topics related to nutrition, values, and home economy.
Nutritional education is important to make knowledgeable nutritional decisions that affect the health of family members. Thus, FEMSA Foundation and Bancos de Alimentos de México (BAMX) – as part of the agreement signed in 2014 – launched Nutrinformate through Caritas de Monterrey on February 25, 2015. The project looks to benefit families from fourteen communities in the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
The initiative consists in offering homemakers workshops on self-improvement, values, nutrition, health, and family economy; additionally, they will have the opportunity to attend nutritional cooking workshops at a mobile kitchen. Children receive dynamic nutritional education workshops, supported by a software specifically designed to meet the objective. Meanwhile, the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon will define the project’s impact with a specialized measuring program, tailored for this initiative.
In this manner, we are offering information we hope will endure and help improve the quality of life of families in Nuevo Leon’s communities.
