The marvels of Mexican art in Canada

In the first few months of 2014, the FEMSA Collection, considered one of the most important cultural archives of Latin America, continued to show the exhibit “The Marvellous Reals Art from Mexico 1926-2011” at the Museum of Anthropology of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

The selection included 54 works, 49 of them from the FEMSA Collection. The pieces were created over a period of eighty-five years and exemplify Mexico’s unique brand of magical realism, as expressed by renowned Mexican artists like David Alfaro Siqueiros, Carlos Amorales, Iñaki Bonillas, Sandra Cabriada, Frida Kahlo, Francisco Toledo, and others.
