In Mexico, the modern beer industry was born on November 8th, 1890, with the founding of the Hielo y Cerveza Cuauhtémoc (Cuahutemoc Beer and Ice) factory, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, home of what today is Cervecería Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma or FEMSA Cerveza, where FEMSA holds 100% of the stock of the company.

FEMSA Cerveza, the most innovative brewery in Mexico, with operations in Brazil, is an important exporter of beer to the United States and other countries around the world. It has a powerful brand portfolio that includes Tecate, Dos Equis, Sol, Indio, Bohemia and Carta Blanca.
